[Green Arrow Vol 3 #45]

Mia!!! I love the mid-motion aspect to this cover. That shade of purple isn’t always my favorite but I don’t mind it here. And I love how Mia’s Speedy costume is referential of Roy’s while still being completely her own. Legacy characters costumes have to straddle that line. 

[Catwoman Vol 2 #45]

This is possibly my favorite of the “skeleton in costume” cover genre. It is wonderfully creepy and I love how the front skelly is looking slightly upwards. And I really like how the costume is hanging off the skeletons, although I feel like the arms and legs should be even saggier than they are.

[Batgirl Vol 1 #62]

A ghost! Or, due to retcons, a ghostly hallucination!

Actually, as an unrepentant Steph/Cass shipper, I kind of like this better as being Cass’s hallucination. It shows how she associates Stephanie with, well, death, but also with strength and not giving up.

“Do what you do best. What you taught me to do. Fight. Fight for your life. Right up ‘till the end…”

[Nightwing Vol 2 #78]

It’s cool that he managed to graft his mask onto his skull like that. Also that a skeleton can have such perfectly lush hair! Also that the uniform isn’t sagging without all the skin and muscle crap getting in the way. It’s as filled as ever!

I actually really like the cartoon-y style here and the sort of reverse halo. Neat!

[Young Justice Vol 1 #3]

Happy Halloweekend! From now until Monday night, all the posts will be Halloween themed! Start looking forward to skeletons in costumes right now, I tell you what.

I am a sucker for sidekicks dressed up as their mentors, especially when the clothes are clearly too big for them.

Little things to love: Tim’s bat-bag, Mxyzpltk’s Dr. Evil pose, Bart’s rock, Tim’s :V, Kon’s hair (always Kon’s hair!)

Also, check out Kon’ freakishly long arms, freakishly large thighs and Bart’s freakishly big boots. Perspective is a fickle mistress.

You know this cover isn’t an accurate portrayal of YJ halloween costumes because Tim would be dressed up as Dick or Jason if it were.

[Batman and Robin Vol 1 #22]

Have to admit, I mostly love this cover for Damian’s pose. He just looks like such an adorable little assassin baby! And his scowl! Precious. I am filled with love for the grumpy Robin, I admit it. He’s just so tiny and angry!

Additionally, I love the way both of them have their eyes in shadows. The background is pretty nice, too! I like how it is black and white in comparison to the boys being colored in.

[Catwoman Vol 3 #43]

This cover is gorgeous. I love the sense of motion here and how free Selina looks. Jock’s covers are generally amazing and this one is no exception. I love the red background, too, and all the little details in the streets below. Gorgeous.

[Batgirl Vol 1 #6]

Cassandra Cain, overwhelmed by all these newfound words. This is the issue after a psychic implanted knowing English into her brain. I love when covers manage to be about the story without directly spoiling or contradicting it. This cover very nicely captures the essence of the issue’s conflict in a symbolic way.

Also, I adore how expressive certain artists manage to make Cass’s cowl.
